'Star Wars: Galaxy Of Heroes' Commemorates May 4th With PC Beta, The Phantom Menace 25th Anniversary Celebration, Jar Jar Binks Character

by Rainier on May 2, 2024 @ 2:29 p.m. PDT

Enter the action packed world of Star Wars in a turn-based strategy RPG as you battle throughout the galaxy and fight with dark & light side heroes across iconic locations.

In Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, players will battle throughout the action packed galaxy featuring legendary characters and heroes from The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Star Wars: The Bad Batch and more, including Darth Vader, Grand Master Yoda, The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi and more, as they fight with dark & light side heroes across iconic locations.

Players will collect heroes and build unbeatable squads as they discover each character’s ultimate gear and fun abilities to make their squads unstoppable – construct unique combinations of elite teams to test exciting strategies for engaging turn-based combat and epic boss battles.

Players will be able to carry their progression over from the mobile version to the PC version, as the Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes PC release is synced with the mobile version, being that it’s fully cross-platform, cross-commerce and cross-progression compatible. The game is also scaled to PC with higher-quality visuals and an improved layout. The addition of new characters and regular in-game events will continue to expand the holotable experience and increase the roster of playable characters, including the highly-anticipated addition of Jar Jar Binks to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

The Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes development team at EA and Capital Games, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, are celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace in a big way. They always celebrate Star Wars Day with big in-game events, but this year they’re really pulling out all the stops to highlight the anniversary of Episode I. The most exciting thing to hit the holotables is the release of a new character, Jar Jar Binks.

That’s right! Jar Jar Binks is joining the roster of heroes on Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes which players can use to build their squad along with other beloved characters from The Mandalorian, Star Wars: The Force Awakens™, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story™, Star Wars: The Last Jedi™, Star Wars: The Bad Batch and more, including Darth Vader, Master Yoda, the Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi and many more.

Jar Jar Binks isn’t the only thing to be excited about on the holotables this May the 4th. The Gungans have been a new addition this year starting with the release of Boss Nass followed by Captain Tarpals, Gungan Boomadier, and Gungan Phalanx. All of these limited releases will be back to celebrate the festivities with Marquee Events for players to collect the whole squad. There will also be other character appearances including Marquee Events for Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, droideka and more. Players will also be receiving free character shards for other memorable characters from The Phantom Menace like Mace Windu and Nute Gunray! They really are making this a May the 4th to remember.

“Making them authentic to what we see in other media while also making them highly effective in our game was one of my favorite things about bringing the Gungans to the holotables. Tapping into backgrounds of different characters, such as Boss Nass, and having their stories reflected in each character's suite of abilities is an incredible experience and a true honor as a Star Wars fan,” said Senior Game Designer Bernard D.

“Jar Jar is a huge highlight, but [I’m] also extremely excited for the introduction of Master Qui-Gon and especially Padawan Obi-Wan to help provide a strong foundation for Queen Amidala's team. Seeing these characters I've grown up with all my life get added to our game and having the opportunity to work alongside so many talented people across so many disciplines helps make this an extremely special and memorable May the 4th for me,” Bernard D. continued.

Also, on May 4; the PC Closed Beta announced earlier this year will officially kick off! Star Wars fans can sign up here for the PC Closed Beta now.
