Global Operations website re-launched

VoodooExtreme just tossed up the story that the official Global Operations website just got re-launched. There will be 16 new screens and some other new media avaliable on the site.

Independence War 2: Edge Of Chaos add-on

The Free Form Mode mod, by Particle Systems, lets you to continue where the game ended, with all your cargo, ships, systems, and trades as they were at the end of the game. It also adds the ability to manually jump between the two clusters, and gives you trades for some advanced weaponry, so you can explore and pirate as you wish, and get any items you may have missed while playing through the game. Nintendo ship more GameCubes to US

Kyoto, Japan Ð Nintendo, the second-largest video-game console maker, said it will ship more GameCube consoles than planned to meet demand in the US. Kyoto-based Nintendo, which expected to sell four million GameCube consoles by March, will send "several hundred thousand more," spokesman Yasuhiro Minagawa said. Nintendo will ship 4.5 million consoles, the Nihon Keizai newspaper said on Sunday.

Midgard on Hold

Seems that we missed this one yesterday.. RPGPlanet has received confirmation of rumours today that Funcom has temporarily laid off part of their staff and put their viking MMORPG Midgard on hold. Digital Mayhem, the action adventure division of Interplay Entertainment Corp., announced today that Giants: Citizen Kabuto for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system has gone gold. The final version of the game is currently in production and will ship to retail on December 21, 2001.

EA Games to release a one level internet multiplayer demo this Friday! The demo will contain one of the eleven huge maps that will ship with the full retail version on January 22, 2002. You can choose the type of model that you want to be in the game, including Axis military models, and select from 14 different weapons including the Browning Automatic Riffle, Bazookas and the Colt .45.
