The product is based on Cinemaware’s hit game Defender of the Crown, first released in 1986 on the Commodore Amiga and subsequently to a variety of platforms where sold over 1,000,000 units worldwide. Allied Assault: Spearhead Rating

Yesterday Steve Groll at Electronic Arts confirmed the new name for the Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault expansion pack "Spearhead" and on EA's info website the expansion was rated "M" (Mature rating given by ESRB). Today planetmedalofhonor confirmed with EA that the "Mature" rating is a mistake, and that the "Teen" rating will stick. (thanks Gamespy)

'Aaron Hall's Dungeon Odyssey' Release Delayed

Shrapnel Games announced today that the release of Aaron Hall's Dungeon Odyssey "RPG" has been delayed due to a bad CD run. Tim Brooks, President of Shrapnel Games, said, "The Dungeon Odyssey release will be delayed at least until two weeks. We received the CDs on Monday as per the original schedule, but the would not work. We have reordered new CDs, but we are at least two weeks behind now. We apologize to all fans of Aaron Hall's games. As we firm up the release date, we will announce that date through the media."

Splinter Cell (XB) - Screenshots

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell will release in time for the lucrative Christmas 2002 market exclusively on Xbox, with a PC version to appear by the end of the year. Xbox is the lead development platform for the game, which has been designed to take full advantage of the advanced graphics and sound capabilities of Xbox. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell will also feature online elements using the recently announced Xbox Live service.

'Battlefield 1942' Not Gold Yet

Gamepen reports that Battlefield 1942 has not yet reached gold status and the internet rumor is just that, a rumor. However, the game is very close to being gold, just a few minor bugs need to be worked and tweaked.

Word is: "This challenging real-time 3D naval combat simulator is the latest installment of the successful Age of Sail franchise, and Privateer's Bounty promises more action, more missions, more units and more fun than ever. Age of Sail 2: Privateer's Bounty will hit stores this week across North America at an estimated price of $29.99." Additionally, a demo version of the game has been released, and can be downloaded through Gigex, the file is 117.5 MB (thanks Blues).

Friday - Day Of Delay

Crave Entertainment has pushed back the release of 'Ultimate Fighting Championship: Tapout 2', 'H2O Overdrive' and 'The Lost'. The games are now slated for a Q1 2003 release. Crave stated that the delay is simply to give the developers of these games more time to add additional features and refine gameplay. Infogrames & Lost Toys sent out word today that 'Battle Engine Aquila', its sci-fi shooter for Xbox and PS2, has been slightly pushed back. Originally set for release during the holiday season, Battle Engine Aquila is now scheduled for January 2003.
