'Red Faction II' (NGC/PC/Xbox) - Screens & Trailer

Originally developed for the PS2 by THQ's Volition studio, these new versions of Red Faction II will feature a number of enhancements and improvements. The Gamecube version, being developed by THQ's Cranky Pants Games studio, will feature custom animations, improved texture resolution and color as well as enhanced lighting specific to the Gamecube hardware. The Xbox and PC versions, being developed by THQ's Outrage Games studio, will include increased texture resolution, and exclusive multiplayer maps and character models. Today we got some excellent screens for PC, NGC and XBOX as well as trailers from the NGC and Xbox version, showing off exactly why this game is rated M for Mature!

The game begins when Kevin Myers receives a call from magazine his sister works for. He is told that she didn't contact them more than 10 days and they are afraid she missed in Colombia during her journalist investigation. So, Kevin departures to this country in order to rescue her. Having arrived he finds himself in the world of violence where 70 out of 100 hundreds people are killed each year. There are many forces fight for the power in Colombia. They are officials, guerrilla, narco mafia, Indians, bandits, CIA. The player has to maneuver between them to reach the main goal to find lost sister. The scenery that looks banal in the beginning step-by-step gets mixed up and finally becomes semi-mystic.

'Nascar Racing 2003' Goes Gold

We just received notice from Vivendi Universal Games that Nascar Racing 2003 Season has gone gold and is scheduled to ship to stores nationwide on February 4th with a SRP of $49.99 USD. Developed by Papyrus Racing Games, NASCAR Racing 2003 Season "showcases new dynamic 3D graphics including a populated pit row, team war wagons, pit signs, aerial objects such as planes, helicopters, blimps, and more". A new demo is expected in a matter of days (to replace the leaked press build earlier this week).

'Command & Conquer Generals' - Goes Gold

Although already revealed in Gamespot's C&C Generals preview yesterday, EA just now released the official "going gold" announcement. A fictional world war in the Middle East, Asia and Afghanistan is headed for your computer! Electronic Arts announced today that the highly-anticipated real-time strategy game, Command & Conquer Generals has gone gold and will ship to stores in North America February 11. Command & Conquer Generals will be published by EA under the EA GAMES brand.

The Anarchy Online Website has details on a free seven day trial they are offering for the Notum Wars add-on, as well as Anarchy Online, the MMORPG it expands. "Through the free trial offer, gamers can play both Anarchy Online and The Notum Wars with no charge for 7 days. At the end of the trial period, the player can then keep the game and the account with a purchase price of $19.95 for the game. The remainder of the first 30-day period will be available for play before the first subscription fee is charged. US Air Force Deal
