Atari and BioWare have expanded the award-winning Neverwinter Nights with the release of the highly anticipated expansion pack Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark. Available today, Hordes of the Underdark is a companion to the best-selling, fantasy roleplaying game released last year in Neverwinter Nights, which is based in the Forgotten Realms world from Wizards of the Coast’s classic Dungeons & Dragons game. The second official expansion pack, Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark pits players in a conflict to save the embattled city of Waterdeep from an ancient evil buried deep within the earth and stone of Undermountain. 'Combat Mission: Afrika Korps' Is Shipping

The game is only be available through BattleFront and not sold in retail. Each game contains three language versions – English, German and French. Customers in Western Europe will find localized German, French and English versions in stores this year, and CMAK will be available in Japan with a localized manual also. MumboJumbo announced today that the sci-fi action shooter Mace Griffin Bounty Hunter will be shipping to retail stores nationwide for personal computer systems. The product, to be published and distributed by MumboJumbo, is currently in production and expected to hit retail shelves in early December. MumboJumbo signed an agreement with Vivendi Universal Games earlier this month for the PC publishing and distribution rights.

Coming off of the busiest shopping days of the year, Sony Computer Entertainment America released today initial sales results, setting the tone for the remainder of the year and confirming consumers voracious demand for interactive entertainment. Sales of PlayStation products surged during the first couple of holiday shopping weeks with retailers nationwide selling more than one million PlayStation2 computer entertainment systems in the month of November, growing the already massive PlayStation 2 installed base to more than 22.5 million and further validating the companys successful reach into the mass market. Sales of first party software also realized significant success with retailers.
