Vivendi Sues Interplay

Vivendi Universal's video game arm has sued one-time partner Interplay Entertainment Corp., alleging Interplay breached a distribution deal between the two. The suit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, accused Interplay, which is controlled by French publisher Titus Interactive, of trying to get out of a product distribution deal by making claims of unpaid payments under the pact (thanks Gamers.nl).

BioWare, whose publishing relationship with Microsoft was announced one year ago at the Microsoft press event X02 in New York, has most recently been recognized for the smash hit Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. 'Space Hack' Revealed - Screens

Space Hack is a sci-fi RPG/action title with Diablo-inspired gameplay mechanics. The storyline puts you on board of a quite 'peculiar' spaceship, trapped inside a space warp. Being a tough guy, whose axe is almost as quick as his wit, it's not surprising that you promptly find yourself confronting angry monsters, one wave after another. Space Hack is scheduled to be released in first half of 2004. An official announcement will follow later this week but in the meantime, read more for the first teaser screen.

Three All-Star NBA Players To Represent The NBA Shootout Franchise

Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced today that it signed two of the best players in the National Basketball Association to assist in promoting NBA ShootOut 2004 for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and the PlayStation game console. Orlando Magic superstar guard Tracy McGrady and Los Angeles Lakers point guard Gary Payton each signed two-year deals, while All-Star shooting guard and NBA ShootOut 2003 cover athlete, Ray Allen, signed on for an additional two years as a company spokesperson. McGrady will be the cover athlete for NBA ShootOut 2004 for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation, both due out in stores this October, while Payton and Allen will be working with the company as contributing consultants, and spokespersons.

Microsoft Hires Ex-Square Veteran For Xbox Division
