LucasArts Reactivates Old 'SWG: An Empire Divided' Accounts

LucasArts/Sony Online ent. dropped us a note that starting Tuesday January 20th, 2004 and ending February 2nd 2004, they are reactivating all old 'Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided' accounts giving people a chance to try out all the new content they have been adding since the launch of the MMORPG. Atari Shuts Down 'Unreal 2' Developer Legend Entertainment

Noticed on VE3D that Legend Entertainment has today been shut down by the powers that be at Atari, according to credible sources. Legend recently completed work on the XMP addon, which added an excellent multiplayer mode to Unreal 2. This was released free on the internet for existing owners of Unreal 2 and also in a special edition version of the game that was released recently. The patch that is currently being tested will be released and that the master server for the game will continue to operate. The LEgend Ent. website has already been taken offline and the Unreal 2 Xbox port (developed by Tantalus) is still on track for release. No Atari representative could be reached for comments, no surprise there... Thanks Andy!

TeamXbox is at it again with more rumours from the Xbox front. Continuing their tradition of bringing world exclusives, TeamXbox revealed today that the Xbox 2 CPU (or CPUs?) will be built using a 65nm manufacturing technology. Which in practice means the Xbox 2 could have a main processor running at clock speed higher than 3 Ghz and close to … 5 Ghz! Painkiller is a nickname of a pretty unusual mercenary, who is dealing with supernatural. There are places on Earth where demons and other evil creatures have their nests: abandoned prisons, private castles, deep caves in the mountains. "Cleaning" those places is good money, and our hero needs a lot of it, since he loves living the life to its fullest. One day he gets what seems to be a pretty simple job: to retrieve a religious artifact from one of the nests. Bucking the trend of numerous studio closures, Heath-Smith and Smith are confident that they can produce more world beating titles. The Battlefield 1942 team has made a new community update regarding the upcoming 1.6 patch. The BF1942 v1.6, which they call " by far the most comprehensive patch to date", will feature 2 new maps, punkbuster anti cheat measures, improved server browsing and tons of other fixes, tweaks and additions.
