Valve has released three new Half-Life 2: Deathmatch maps, which are now available via Steam. These maps were created by the three players who won our recent HL2:DM mapping contest. If you have HL2:DM installed in your Steam games list, you will receive the new maps automatically. This release also includes a Counter-Strike: Source update which fixes incorrect player names appearing in the scoreboard.

Pariah focuses on a robust immersive storyline that weaves survival elements into the traditional run-and-gun style of first-person action games. Digital Extremes sent us an email announcing that there will be a multiplayer demo available this coming Friday, and of course we will have it available on our fileserver network
. The demo will feature 2-3 playable multiplayer maps, have all weapons available (except titanium first, which is only a singleplayer weapon), 3 driveable vehicles and be about 300mb in size.

Today Ubisoft announces new maps, missions and modes exclusively for the Xboxversion of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2. Jester Interactive Publishing announced today that Duke Marketing is appointed sole UK & Ireland distributors for its PS2 title TT Superbikes. The game has been developed by Jester over 3 years with input from Duke, the Isle of Man Department of Tourism & Leisure, and several leading ‘road racers’ to give an unprecedented level of realism to the entire 37.73 mile TT course. Game modes include ‘Mad Sunday’, TT races, tutorials and over 40 different bike selections.

Telltale Inc, currently working on comic book adaptation Bone, announced the worldwide launch of its character based poker game Telltale Texas Hold’Em!, in which the player squares off against four wacky characters, all with their own individual playing styles. The engaging PC title is unique among video poker games, focusing on the characters more than the cards.

CDV today announced that Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars has gone gold and is scheduled to ship in North America on April 26. Cossacks II will put gamers in control of one of six 19th-century nations as they wage war, secure alliances and work to economically and militarily defeat their opponents to become the dominant European power.

Due to continuous below-average sales, French publisher Big Ben has decided to close down its UK office. Open a little over five years, Bigben Interactive UK Ltd never really took off like its parent company had envisioned. The recent Dance:UK eXtra Trax sales were satisfactory, but its fate was already sealed, as it barely improved the weak overall sales figure during last year's Christmas period. One of the reasons given was the lack of console units available on the market during the last holiday season, which resulted in a below-average sale of game units.
