Today Ubisoft announced development of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3, the next installment in the squad-based action franchise. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3 is scheduled to ship for retail in conjunction with the launch of the Xbox 360 and will also be available on the PS2, Xbox, NGC and PC this holiday 2005. Ubisoft will showcase Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3 at the 2005 E3.

Ubisoft today announced that one new Versus map and two new Co-op multiplayer maps will soon be available on PC and Xbox (via Xbox Live) for owners of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. The Versus map, called Squat, will be available at the end of May, and the two Co-op maps, Nuclear Plant and UN HQ, will follow shortly thereafter. The maps will be free of charge. Ubisoft today announced the action-filled flight combat game Blazing Angels: Squadrons of WWII, a title exclusive to the Xbox and internally developed by Ubisoft. From Western Europe to the Pacific, players test their air-combat skills as they experience the most famous battles of World War II. As a squadron leader, the player can fly up to 40 WWII aircraft in both single-player and multiplayer missions.

Pirates is broadband only, with high-end hardware specifications for graphics -- a GeForce 3 or better is required in at least a 1GHz machine, and the game is optimized for the latest DirectX 9.0-class cards. Epic Games today announced that it has completed the purchase of the Reality Engine from Artificial Studios and hired its founder, and lead engine programmer, Tim Johnson.
