Dead Rising is survival horror game, in which you play freelance photographer Frank West, who in search of a scoop ends up in a zombie invested suburban town. Capcom has released the first downloadable content, although it mere unlocks 8 new costumes for your character.

Duran Duran Beside Their Virtual Selves in 'Second Life'

British rock stars Duran Duran announced today that they have commissioned their own custom-designed avatars who will live on a fantasy luxury island inside the online virtual world of Second Life. Atari Financial Result Reveals 'Alone In The Dark' (ALL) Delay

Atari released its Q1 2007 results and while net revenue dropped from $23.9 to $19.5 million, mostly due to less titles in circulation, net losses were reduced from $32.8 to $7.1 million. After the recent sale of various franchises, Atari's CEO Bruno Bonnell announced in the subsequent conference call that it's now time to rebuild & grow the company. Unfortunately there was also less pleasant news, Eden Studios Aline in the Dark is getting pushed back from its original early 2007 date to fiscal 2008 (anytime after March 2007).

EU Looking Into Possible Next-Gen DVD Bullying

EU competition regulators have requested information from both Sony (Blue Ray), and Toshiba (HD DVD), to look into the commercial practices seeking to find out whether the companies are trying to impose their formats on movie studios and computer makers with exclusivity contracts. While requesting information isn't a "formal probe," it is however a consequential step to answer the questions.

Destineer Opens New Development Studio in North Carolina

Destineer announced today that it has chosen Raleigh, North Carolina as the location where it will open its next development studio, with at least 100 engineers, artists, designers, QA staff, and management. From Software Cancels Two PS3 Titles

While never officially announced, last year's Tokyo Game Show PS3 release list made mention of two upcoming titles. Unfortunately From Software has terminated development of both Dark RPG and Black Blade due to mounting development costs. Currently it has one other title in the works for Sony's next gen console, Armored Core 4 is scheduled for release in Japan this November while the Xbox 360 version comes later this summer.
