Because of piracy prior to its official release, SIGames' Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 didn't bring in enough money to cover the development costs, let alone the license fees, so the decision was made to stop development on the game.

Sony Releases v3.10 PSP Firmware

Sony has released a new v3.10 PSP firmware update, adding an optional Conserve Memory feature for your Internet browser when viewing a Web page with a larger amount of data, as well as a Dynamic Normalizer providing automatic volume adjustment. Sony is also promoting a new PSP download service currently offering the Killzone demo but in next few weeks Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 are expected.

'Blazing Angels: Secret Missions' (X360/PC) Announced - Screens

Ubisoft announced Blazing Angels: Secret Missions, the follow-up to the squadron-based flight combat game Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII. Blazing Angels: Secret Missions shows World War II from a different perspective, that of an elite pilot who is part of a secret team.

'Infernal' - Demo Available NOW

Infernal is a 3rd person action adventure that is set in a present day scenario, with stunning environments and strong characters. The story relates to the eternal conflict between good and evil, confronted in supernatural intelligence agencies. The PC Zone cover mounted demo made it online, allowing you to try out one mission/tutorial of the full game.

'BioShock' (X360/PC) - 8 New Screens

BioShock is 2K Games' hybrid first-person shooter, in the works over at System Shock 2 developers Irrational Games, combining elements of sci-fi and role-playing genres.

'FlatOut: Total Carnage' (X360) Is 'FlatOut 2' Remake

Last year a London Stock Exchange article revealed BugBear was bringing its destructive racing to X360 under the FlatOut: Total Carnage title, but no details as to whether this was an all new title, or maybe a bundle were available. Earlier today Empire revealed "FlatOut: Total Carnage is a re-imagining of FlatOut 2 rebuilt from the ground up and specifically developed to make use of the additional feature sets and improved processing ability of third generation technologies," and a launch date will be announced in the near future

'Bleach DS 2nd' (NDS) - 12 New Screens

SEGA is releasing the second Bleach episode in Japan mid February, adding new characters to its 2D Fighting game, bringing the total to 40, as well as online multiplayer capabilities for up to 4 players. Bleach DS 2nd also features a scenario by manga guru Tite Kubo.

Xbox 360 Games Boost Burger Sales

Burger King reported higher Q2 earnings, mainly due to the 3.2 million King-themed Xbox 360 games that were sold at its restaurants this past quarter. Net income for Q2 was $38 million, compared with $27 million a year ago.

Sony Income Drops, Ships 1.8 Million PS3 Units

Sony released its 3rd quarter results revealing it has shipped 1.8 million units, and while revenue was up nearly 10%, its overall income dropped 5%. PS2 and PSP hardware sales dropped, and overall software sales also declined, although the sale of PSP titles in particular was up. As a results Sony Games division recorded a $455 million loss, compared to $570 million income last year.
