'TOCA Race Driver 3 Challenge' (PSP) Downloadable Demo

TOCA Race Driver 3 Challenge is the PSP exclusive edition in the legendary racing series and hits the streets next Friday, February 16th. However, PSP players can take to the game’s circuits today in a trio of skill tests driving the Ultima GTR, Opel Vectra GTS V8 and the classic Mercedes Benz W196.

'Archon' Remake in the Works

Myriad Interactive announced the signing with Free Fall Games of Archon, the title that made its first appearance in 1983 on the Atari 8-bit computer, but was then ported to classic consoles such as the Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum and even the NES. The game proved popular with its cunning mix of strategic gameplay and intense action sequences.

Columbia Pictures Wants to Acquire 'Metal Gear Solid' Movie License

Columbia Pictures is in negotiations to acquire the rights to adapt the best-selling video game "Metal Gear Solid." The studio plans to turn the PlayStation game series from Konami into a character-driven futuristic spy thriller. The game centers on Solid Snake, a Special Forces operative called out of retirement for one last mission. With terrorists threatening a nuclear facility in Alaska, Snake must penetrate their defenses and neutralize the threat.

Atari Signs 'ArmA: Combat Operations' - Screens

Atari announced it has signed ArmA, a first person tactical military shooter with large elements of realism and simulation, for North American distribution. This game features a blend of large-scale military conflict spread over large areas alongside the more closed quarters battle.

'Manhunt 2' (PSP/PS2/Wii) Already Under Fire

Earlier this week Rockstar announced Manhunt 2, sequel to its controversial, and brutal action game where you play James Earl Cash, a convicted killer on death row, set free and hunted down as a sport for the masses to enjoy. Rockstar was taken to court in 2004 over a murder case in the UK, claiming the game influenced the killer, but eventually absolved by the court. Now the victim's parents are outraged over the decision to make a sequel, calling it "an insult" to their son's memory, and others are "astonished" by the announcement.

'Tronji' Announced

According to Spanish website Meristation it is not a matter if, but rather when. According to an inside source, developer Ready at Dawn, known for Daxter, is working on a PSP spinoff, indicating this might not be just a port, but an all new title, for Sony Santa Monica's original God of War. No further details were provided, so hopefully there will be an official announcement soon ...

More interesting news coming from the DICE summit currently being held in Las Vegas. While not providing any detailed information, Gamespot managed to get a hold of Sony Pictures Entertainment Vice Chairman Yair Landau, who revealed that SPE is currently working on a Metal Gear Solid action picture, a rumor started by Studio Kojima during last year's E3. Landau also mentioned that they are working with one of his favorite producers on an idea for an EverQuest movie, but declined to give a name.
