Earlier today Civ fansite Apolyton revealed that Civilization III and Civ IV designer Soren Johnson had left Firaxis, and teamed up with EA, which he left in 2000 to join up with aforementioned Sid Meiers studio. EA confirmed the rumor and let us know that Soren has indeed joined the Maxis team, currently developing Will Wright's (r)evolutionary title Spore.

French developer Eugen Systems, known for Act Of War : Direct Action and high Treason expansion, revealed that it is currently working on a yet undisclosed new RTS for Xbox 360 and PC, but also possible a PS3 edition. While no details or estimated release were revealed, Eugen Systems did confirm it has already signed with a world class publisher.
