In Crysis shooter fans will face a new kind of challenge requiring adaptive tactics and customization of weapons and armor in dynamic, hostile environments as mankind struggles to survive in the face of an alien invasion. Crytek revealed
that the Team Action mode has been removed (no one liked it), and multiplayer will differentiate overall whether you use DX9 (no physics & day/night cycle) and DX10 (full on).

The upcoming October 2007 issue of Game Informer
has the first details of a new survival horror/sci-fi title from Electronic Arts, saying "Fans of the cult-classic film Event Horizon and straight-up horror aficionados aren’t going to want to miss this one!" No developer of platforms were revealed except for "In the far reaches of space, humanity brings to light a forgotten alien scourge. Can one man cut through the darkness?"

Big update for PS3 fans, as not only did Sony release the v1.93 firmware, but also a slew of new demos (PixelJunk Racers, Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground, NHL 08, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and FIFA 08), but also new downloadable games (PixelJunk Racers at $6.99, and High Stakes on the Vegas Strip: Poker Edition at $9.99). On top of that there are also new game trailers, and a free music track from Lair.

While Level 5 are still working on bringing the newest Dragon Quest IX title the the NDS, several of its prequels, DQ IV, V and VI to be precise, are also getting converted to the NDS, with full 3D graphics. Scheduled for release this winter in Japan, no word whether Square Enix will be bringing it to Europe and/or North America.

Microsoft is making sure you are all set for the coming weekend as not only has it released EA's much anticipated FIFA 08 demo (730mb), but also a playable version of Activision's Spider-Man: Friend or Foe (430mb). Gamers in Europe will have to wait a little longer for the FIFA 08 demo, as there has been an unresolved issue that was discovered last minute.
