2009 Spike Video Game Awards Reveals Slew Of New Titles

At the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards a slew of new titles were unveiled, with very little details actually announced. Activision announced that it is working with United Front, known for ModNation Racers, on a new installment of its open world crime/action series True Crime, this time set in Hong Kong 2K Games is reviving its a special ops series with Spec Ops: The Line, a multiplatform 3rd person action game set in Dubai involving a big sandstorm. LucasArts was rumored to unveil a new Star Wars game, and while many people thought it would be a new MMO, it instead revealed a sequel to Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, with the sequel set right after the original with Galen "Starkiller" Marek returning.

'Green Day: Rock Band' (ALL) Announced

The game is an extension and expression of Green Day’s most-defining albums and key moments throughout their career to date. It will feature likenesses of Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, as well as select venues and art specific to the band's history.

'Batman: Arkham Asylum' (ALL) Sequel Confirmed

Batman: Arkham Asylum is a 3rd-person action game powered by the Unreal Engine 3, that exposes players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure that takes them to the depths of Arkham Asylum – Gotham's psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. While details are still unknown, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum as the VGA awards.
