'Battlefield 3' Development Confirmed

While it wasn't exactly a super secret, EA has yet to officially announce that DICE is working on the next installment in the Battlefield franchise. Apart from the upcoming Bad Company 2, most titles the Swedish studio has been working on were console iterations, but at a recent conference, EA's COO John Pleasants confirmed Battlefield 3, saying that he "was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product." Don't get your hopes up just yet; it isn't due for quite a while.

Fans hoping for more info at E3 were disappointed as the game was a no show, but the newest issue of GameInformer will change all that. Set in Sao Palo, Brazil, featuring a bald Max, the game will include dealing with a painkiller addiction which affects gameplay, destructible environments, day/night cycle, new weapons, multiplayer, a cover system, and of course bullet time.
