Capcom's hack-and-slash (and sometimes a little RPG) series Onimusha has not been heard of since 2006's Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, but if clues on the new teaser site are any indication, the franchise might be making a comeback. At the end of last week, a teaser site only featured the number "1560," which refers to the setting of the first title, and subsequently other numbers have appeared, 1573 and 1582, which are the dates for the second and third installment, respectively. While there is no official announcement yet, it seems clear that Capcom is prepping a new title in the series.

Sony Bringing Back PS2 Compatibility?

When Sony launched the PS3, it promised backward compatibility with the PS2's Emotion Engine, but that feature disappeared a few PS3 SKUs later, much to the dismay of fans. However, now it seems Sony might be bringing back the Emotion Engine, but not through adding hardware, but by emulating it. A recent patent filing reveals that Sony has the code and technology to make it happen, either by decoding and converting, or decoding and recompiling into the PS2's Emotion Engine language.
