Wednesday, May 30, 2007 Shipping Announcements

by Rainier on May 30, 2007 @ 1:20 a.m. PDT

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

Shadowrun (X360/PC)

The innovative first-person shooter (FPS) gameplay of Shadowrun, developed by FASA Studio, thrusts gamers into strategic battles that utilize magic and technology. Players must vie for supremacy, playing as a human, elf, dwarf or troll. Cleverness, cunning and split-second improvisation are rewarded through a unique combination of modern weapons, ancient magic and advanced technology. As the first game to support Microsofts Games for Windows LIVE service, Shadowrun gives players on both Xbox 360 and Windows Vista a chance to compete, cooperate and communicate across both platforms with an Xbox Live Gold or Games for Windows - LIVE Gold account.

Shadowrun will ship with nine unique maps and an additional three map variations, showcasing dynamic environments set in a futuristic Santos, Brazil, and its neighboring ancient Ziggurat. Shadowrun includes six training chapters, letting gamers fine-tune their strategy and lethal combinations against the intuitively smart and talented A.I. bots. Gamers can also play with bots at four levels of difficulty on every map and with every game type.

Xbox 360 gamers can get in on the action with the official Shadowrun demo on June 6. The demo will be available for download via Xbox LIVE® Marketplace.

Starting today, humans, elves, dwarves and trolls can join the cross-platform revolution with Shadowrun, rated M for Mature, at the estimated retail price of $59.99 (U.S.) for Xbox 360 and $49.99 (U.S.) for Windows Vista.

Crush (PSP)

With its intriguing style of thought-provoking gameplay this addicting title presents a whole new concept in multi-dimensional puzzle gameplay that blends 2D and 3D graphics in an enticingly surreal environment.

Set within a complex and hypnotic 3D world, players will use the game’s unique crushing mechanic to “crush” the environment and transform it into a more simplified 2D platformer. Once flattened, players will utilize the 2D space to move to new areas in order to solve otherwise impossible challenges, and unlock secret items that were previously unobtainable in the 3D environment. Players will then “uncrush” the 2D environment and return to the 3D world.

Designed for a wide and varied audience, Crush tells the story of Danny, a young man with a lifetime of unresolved issues and bottled up emotions that have turned him into a nervous insomniac. Desperate for a cure, he turns to Dr. Rubins for an inventive new treatment. It is during this state that he is given one last chance to sort through the wreckage of his past, before he loses the last thing he has left – his sanity.

Crush, developed by U.K. based Zoë Mode, is rated “E10+” (Everyone 10 and older) and is available at retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $29.95.

Shane Nestler, President of Tri Synergy, said “UFO: Extraterrestrials has been incredibly well received by sci-fi strategy fans and with a game this solid, it’s no wonder.
