Tuesday, April 1, 2008 Shipping Announcements

by Rainier on April 1, 2008 @ 4:48 a.m. PDT

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

Mana Khemia: Alchemists of Al-Revis (PS2)

The 4th entry in the RPG series, Mana Khemia is different from the previous Atelier Iris games. Mana Khemia is a campus sim style RPG, where you can interact with classmates and professors to complete academic quests. You play as Vayne Aurelius, a novice alchemist who was invited to attend Al-Revis Academy. At the academy, Vayne will meet human and not so human(?) alchemists, and together they will solve the mysteries of alchemy.

To thank the Atelier series’ loyal fans, NIS America has created a special Limited Edition box set with unique collectibles that amplify Mana Khemia’s gaming experience. The special package includes the original soundtrack, a quick synthesis chart, and a full color poster nicely boxed in a premium cover.

Key Features

  • Academic Quests – Players will take on quests that the professor assigns. If you fail your mission, you may have to stay after school. Also depending on who you work with for your assignments, the outcome of the story will change.
  • Avatar Crafting - Personalize your characters by “crafting” skills and stats instead of just leveling up through combat. Crafting skills and stats allows the player to create unique characters like a warrior that excels in summoning magic or a magician that’s an expert at sniping.
  • Item Crafting – A comprehensive item/weapon crafting system. Create anything from healing potions to swords through alchemy.
  • Team Crafting - Craft items using your team’s recipes.
  • Symbol Encounters – No more random encounters. Visually confirm and engage enemies.
  • Burst Attack – Knock your enemy out and pound them with combo attacks like a fighting game.

Counter Force (Wii)

A classic 3D action shooter game, Counter Force puts the gamer in control of a robot from a third person perspective. Developed by Hyper Devbox, Counter Force uses the wiimote and nunchuck to match the controls of the robot's movement and gun sight, providing realistic action-packed entertainment.

Sirus Ahmadi, president of Conspiracy Entertainment, said, "We are pleased to work with the highly-respected videogames publisher 505 Games to bring this 'old school' shooter style game to the European Wii audience. The game is now on the shelves of retail stores in Europe, continuing our trend to expand both domestically and overseas."

Keith Tanaka, CFO of Conspiracy Entertainment, said, "The shoot'em up style format is a tried and true winner in the video game market. We are excited to bring this game exclusively for the Wii, which marks our fourth release in the first quarter of 2008, adding to our already strong product sales this month."

Every day, thousands perish. Those who survive share rumors of an alien entity called 'Diadora.' The survivors took refuge below the earth's surface, narrowly escaping the alien invaders. The governing Council ordered an immediate counter attack. The primary objective codenamed 'Counter Force' would reclaim the Earth's surface using 3 experimental robots. The secondary objective is to investigate the alien war-machine's weaknesses and defeat the mysterious 'Diadora.'

Features :

  • Three freedom fighters -- Sophia, Dynamis and Calista are humanity's last hope for victory!
  • Fast and furious 3D shoot'em-up style, with powerful weapons.
  • Up to 12 different enemies and 5 different bosses.
  • Shop to upgrade your robot's features and build your strategy.

Through Conspiracy Entertainment's agreement with publisher 505 Games, Counter Force is being sold throughout Western Europe.
