Wednesday, April 23, 2008 Shipping Announcements

by Rainier on April 23, 2008 @ 2:27 a.m. PDT

Another day, another batch of games shipped to stores. Instead of giving them all their own posts, we grouped them, and so far there are announcements for:

Persona 3 FES (PS2)

Lead a group of high school students with a dangerous extracurricular activity: exploring the mysterious tower Tartarus and fighting the sinister Shadows during the Dark Hour, a frozen span of time imperceptible to all but a select few. However, the end of their quest is no longer the end of the story -- witness for the first time the aftermath of the final battle and the students' struggle to find meaning in their new lives.

Key Features:

  • Acclaimed by critics and fans - Experience the definitive cut of 2007's award-winning Persona 3, which garnered tons of critical acclaim and the adulation of a devoted fanbase.
  • More than just an expansion - Persona 3 FES contains an enhanced version of the original game, loaded with new Personas and cutscenes, a weapon synthesis system, additional quests and events, a hard difficulty mode, and the ability to change your characters' clothes.
  • 30 additional hours of gameplay - Take the role of Aigis in a brand new Persona 3 episode that plays as a full game with an original story, extra cutscenes and objectives, and seventeen new music tracks.
  • Incredible value - The enhanced version of the acclaimed Persona 3 game and the brand new episode make for 120-plus hours of gameplay, packaged together at a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Persona 3 FES is a stand-alone product and does not require the original Persona 3 to play. However, players with save files from the original game will be able to transfer some of their saved data, such as their Persona compendium, to be used in the enhanced main story. The new story is accessible from the start and does not require players to finish the original game beforehand.

Persona 3 FES, rated M for Mature is now available in stores for $29.99.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time / Explorers of Darkness (NDS)

Between April 23 and May 21, Pokémon fans can visit www.PokemonMysteryDungeon.com, where they will be able to enter the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers online sweepstakes for a chance to win one of two Pokémon-inspired prize packages, including a limited-edition Pikachu NDS, a Wii console, a high-definition television and assorted Pokémon video games, including Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness, and more great Pokémon merchandise. For Pokémon loyalists looking for even more adventure, the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Web site is home to an online scavenger hunt where players will be tasked with discovering hidden icons to get access to an exclusive Pokémon wallpaper, giving their computer some extra flair.

“The new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series delivers the most transformative Pokémon experience yet – the chance to become a Pokémon character,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “Both new and returning players will relish the opportunity to embark on an endless journey through randomly generated dungeons on their Nintendo DS and discover their own hidden treasure through the online sweepstakes.”

In this new pair of epic adventures, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon players are transported to a secluded land inhabited only by Pokémon. After taking a personality test that determines which Pokémon best represents their own personalities, players will experience their adventure and explore the land as an actual Pokémon. In the course of their journey, players are charged with discovering why they’ve been turned into a Pokémon, all the while trying to thwart a Pokémon bent on stopping time and plunging the world into darkness.

Pokémon players in need of assistance have a great new way to call for help using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Rescue friends in trouble, or send out an SOS Mail if you are in need of rescue! You can even receive friend rescue-notification e-mails on your PC or cell phone so you always know when a friend is in trouble.

To satiate Pokémon fans looking for new adventures at every turn, the games feature randomly generated dungeons that make every mission unique. And with more than 490 Pokémon populating both games, players are sure to find their favorite Pokémon, giving them limitless options when forming their teams in preparation for their next journey.

The new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon titles are exclusively available for the NDS system. The compelling storyline and enhanced graphics of these new Pokémon titles provide even more reasons for Game Boy® Advance owners to upgrade to NDS.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness for NDS are rated E for Everyone

Target: Terror (Wii)

Developed for the Wii, Target: Terror brings to North America the classic arcade shooter with features including unlockable mini games and the new "Justice Mode," allowing a single player to use two weapons. Fans can experience this classic one-of-a-kind game with updated controls for the first time in their own living room.

"Konami is excited to bring Target: Terror to the Wii," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "Fans of the original arcade classic can experience this thrilling light-gun shooter on a next-generation console while maximizing the gameplay experience with the Wii Remote."

Target: Terror puts players in the place of an elite counter-terrorist agent who is charged with protecting the U.S. from all terrorist activities. With a full-scale assault spanning the entire U.S., players are given the chance to show terrorists who's in charge by eliminating the seemingly endless waves of enemies with an assortment of high-tech weapons in their arsenal.

Utilizing the motion sensing controls of the Wii Remote™, fans can experience a seamless transition of the arcade's light gun to the Wii. The arcade experience is enhanced when used with the Wii Zapper™ peripheral to provide total immersion in the game by replicating both the arcade light-gun as well as the elite, tactical weapons used by counter-terrorist agents.

Target: Terror is rated "M" for Mature by the ESRB and available for an SRP of $39.99.
