Through thirty missions players will undertake a variety of ground attack, air combat and support missions, ranging from attacking drug smugglers in speedboats, to supporting special forces, to protecting the President of the United States. Tropical, desert, urban and snow-covered terrain will all be represented. The missions will also have challenging enemies who will attack aggressively from the air and on the ground, including Black Shark helicopters and troops with Stinger missiles.
Comanche 4 is being built from the ground up, starting with an all-new, fully accelerated, 3D polygon graphics engine. The game will utilize the latest T&L technology to showcase stunning effects such as rotor wash effects on both water and ground and impressive tree densities. Players will be able to destroy just about everything in the game, including buildings, vehicles and foliage, resulting in massively detailed explosions and terrain scarring.
"Comanche 4 will offer both action gamers and flight sim fans an exhilarating and fun helicopter combat experience," said Wes Eckhart, Producer of Comanche 4. "The realistic environments, and eye-catching special effects will blow them away."
Effortless controls and a return to the "5-minute learning curve" make Comanche 4 a game for casual and core gamers. It can be played with simple shooter controls (ASWD keyboard and mouse) as well as supporting joysticks and throttles. The game also features fantastic co-op gameplay straight out of the box, where up to 16 gamers can fight it out in the skies.
Comanche 4 is scheduled for GLOBAL release in November 2001.
