Konami of America announced today that it will publish Konami Collector's Series: Arcade Advanced for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance in April 2002. The first in a series of classic Konami game collections, Arcade Advanced will carry a suggested retail price of $29.99.

80's Arcade Nostalgia Spearheaded By the Return of the Original Frogger

Arcade Advanced collects six Konami arcade titles in their classic form, including Rush'n Attack, Gradius, Scramble, Yie Ar Kung~Fu, Time Pilot, and the original Frogger. Each of the six titles appears on the single cartridge just as they did in the Golden Age of video games, while new bonus features breathe new life into them. New graphics, multiplayer modes, levels, sound effects and game modes are just some of the extras being added to each title.

Frogger: The answer to the age-old question: Why did the frog cross the road? To avoid the cars, trucks, alligators, snapping turtles and other perils. Navigate across multiple lanes of traffic, jump across moving logs and lily pads and got Frogger home safely. This version marks the return of the classic arcade Frogger game for the first time in 15 years.

Time Pilot: An original in terms of both story and game design, Time Pilot broke all the rules of early 80's shooters. Zip back and forth through the history of aerial combat in from early Twentieth Century bi-planes and zeppelins to World War II-era dogfighters and bombers, 1970's helicopters and jets to futuristic UFOs.

Yie Ar Kung~Fu: Without Yie Ar Kung~Fu, fighting games as we know them know may never have come to be. Deflect throwing stars, dodge swords and deliver ruthless high kicks while facing off one-on-one against a host of martial arts masters in a merciless kung fu match.

Scramble: A deceptively tough game from the dawn of side-scrolling action games, Scramble is the great-grandfather of shooters like the recently released Gradius Galaxies. Pilot a spacecraft, avoiding missiles, comets and careening alien craft while trying to keep enough fuel in ship to destroy the alien base.

Rush'n Attack: Players become a tough-as-nails special forces agent, taking on endless waves of gun-toting enemies and rescue prisoners of war.

Gyruss: Navigate the solar system with wave after wave of attacking enemies, while flying in a circular orbit around the screen.
