Sega Europe Limited today announced the date for the introduction of new browser software (Dreamkey 3.0) to replace the current browsers (Dreamkey 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0). With the introduction of the new browser software, Dreamcast users will be able to choose any available ISP to connect their Dreamcast to the Internet and enjoy online multiplayer gaming.

Dreamcast users will be able to order Dreamkey 3.0 online at Dreamarena free of charge from January 7, 2002 and the new browser will be ready for delivery from February 1, 2002.is being developed by Paradox Development and is scheduled for release summer 2002.

From March 1, 2002 Internet access through Dreamcast will only be possible by using Dreamkey 3.0. Dreamcast users who have not yet registered their consoles for Internet access will need to do so before they can order Dreamkey 3.0. Dreamkey 3.0 will be available to users in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden, Austria, Switzerland and Finland. Sega Europe is in discussion with service providers in Spain and Portugal to provide the best possible service for Dreamcast users in these countries.

Online gaming will also continue to be provided, utilising the new browser to enable Dreamcast users to benefit from unrestricted network access. From March 1, 2002 Dreamarena portal services will be merged with Sega Europe's website, available at www.sega-europe.com, and will be accessible from Dreamcasts, PCs and other online platforms.
