The GBA march continues as the sales go through the roof and developers get on board to snag a peice of the cake ... Interplay makes a move to get its share and signs a deal with New Jersey based Majesco ...
Interplay Entertainment Corp.(Nasdaq: IPLY) and Majesco announced today an exclusive agreement for Majesco, Inc. to publish several Interplay games for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance in North America, including Earthworm Jim(TM) (based on the "Earthworm Jim" character originally created by Doug TenNapel). "Majesco has done an excellent job in bringing what Doug TenNapel and the Shiny team originally created to the Game Boy Advance," stated Phil Adam, Vice President of Business Development. "I am very pleased with the outcome and fully expect Earthworm Jim on Game Boy Advance to be a success." "Earthworm Jim's immense popularity can be attributed to its lavish graphics and artwork, wonderful gameplay design, and a slew of hilarious and zany characters," said Dan Kitchen, Vice President of Product Development for Majesco. "The Game Boy Advance version will allow us to introduce this timeless classic to a new generation of gamers, while simultaneously providing more experienced gamers with a venue for reliving an old favorite."
