Sky Sports Football Manager – Wembley Winners

by Rainier on Aug. 20, 2001 @ 7:41 p.m. PDT

Sky Sports Football Manager team beat a number of industry football ‘names’ to take home the silverware.

Last weekend Wembley played host to the annual CTW / amazon.co.uk Cup. Sky Sports Football Manager were overall winners from a field of more than 40 teams that included well known footballing ‘names’ from across the industry. Among the vanquished were luminaries such as Electronic Arts, Eidos and Infogrammes, as well as teams from the sponsors, CTW and Amazon.

A gripping final between Sky Sports Football Manager and Midas Games ended 2-2. A teutonic display in the penalty shoot-out saw Sky Sports Football Manager emerge as the ‘Amazon and CTW 5-a-side Champions’.

Computer Trade Weekly editor, Kristan Reed, commented: “A good time was had by all … with Fergus McGovern's Sky Sports Football Manager team all conquering in their pursuit of silverware. In fact the joy on Mr McGovern's face was there for all to see as the game went down to the wire at 2-2.”

“We wanted to prove we really are No. 1 when it comes to football” commented Fergus McGovern.

Sky Sports Football Manager is the most realistic football management game yet and will be launched live across the worldwide web in September. Visit www.nisports.com for details.
