Codemasters Brings top-titles to budget price

by Rainier on Sept. 19, 2001 @ 7:21 p.m. PDT

They're Codemasters' top of the pops, they're the games that make the incredible line up for the new "Codemasters' Best Sellers" range launching on PC on October 12th.
With a RRP of £12.99 for each title, Codemasters' new range represents some of the finest PC entertainment of the past two years.

The blockbuster launch line up is confirmed as: TOCA 2 Touring Cars, Severance: Blade of Darkness, Colin McRae Rally 2.0, Insane, World Championship Snooker and Music 2000.

The new range mirrors Codemasters' Best Sellers range on PlayStation, which has had a dominating performance in the budget charts. At one point there were an amazing nine games from Codemasters' PlayStation Best Sellers range placed in the official chart top 30. Indeed, certain titles have become some of the best-selling budget games ever in figures extrapolated from the Chart Track charts.

Says Neil Ralley, Codemasters' Sales Director:
"You could not wish for a better line up of acclaimed titles to debut in a range. Every title has been a major success in its own right at full price and we are delighted to make these titles available within the Best Sellers price range for the winter season."

Severance: Blade of Darkness (£12.99)
Severance: Blade of Darkness delivers the ultimate hack and slash combat adventure and displays some of bloodiest combat scenes seen in PC gaming. Described as "The best fantasy combat game yet on the PC" by PC Gamer, Severance: Blade of Darkness is set in a world of heroes and quests. The combat's everything a barbarian hero could wish for, including the ability for a sword-wielding player to hack an opponent's limb off, pick up the dismembered bloody limb and use it as a club to batter the victim into submission, as jets of blood pour from wounds.

Colin McRae Rally 2.0 (£12.99)
Redefining the defining moment for rally games, Codemasters' chart-dominating rally game Colin McRae Rally 2.0 delivers heart-racing action.
