The Weakest Link Coming to a PC near you...

by Rainier on Sept. 27, 2001 @ 6:38 p.m. PDT

Prepare to be introduced to the fearsome Cyber Anne Robinson on the 28th September 2001 when Activision releases the highly anticipated computer game ‘The Weakest LinkTM’, which is widely tipped to become one of the best selling computer games this holiday season.

A must have Christmas stocking filler for both adults and children alike ‘ The Weakest Link’ is poised to become a videogame phenomenon, mirroring the television show’s unprecedented success.

Based on the BBC Television’s hugely successful show, the game introduces Anne Robinson to the cyber world, and as we’ve come to expect she’s armed with her now infamous put downs and razor-sharp wit. But, this time contestants can answer back if they are brave enough! With over 100,000 questions, players will be able to play well into the New Year.

Anne Robinson herself says, “You can play this game on your own or with your friends and family and, as up to seven people can play at once, it’s a real social event. Now, everyone can have the chance to find out which of their friends or family members is ‘The Weakest Link’ and make them walk the Walk of Shame.”

The game features includes:

  • More than 100,000 questions
  • The likeness and voice of Anne Robinson with her infamous catchphrase, which is now set to reverberate around the nation’s households this Christmas -- ‘You are the Weakest Link – Goodbye.’
  • A choice from 24 different characters, each with their own characteristics and appearance.
  • Capacity for up to seven players to play at once, with any combination of human or computer contestants.
  • A myriad of options that allows players to extend the gameplay, progressing to bigger and bigger prize funds and perhaps even bending the rules in their favour.
