NewComer Akaei Gets Busy

Akaei Plc and Buka form Strategic Partnership

Akaei Plc, the recently AIM listed Games Publisher and Buka Entertainment, the Leading Russian Games Publisher today announce that they have signed a deal at this years ECTS, which will see the two parties unit in a strategic partnership for the next two years.

As a result of the deal, Akaei have acquired the rights to publish all Buka titles to publish in the UK and Ireland whilst Buka will publish Akaei products in their respective territories of Russia and CIS.

Akaei are about to publish the critically acclaimed Buka PC flight Sim, Echelon and forthcoming titles to the line up will include Paradise Cracked, Spells of Gold and Charm of War. Buka will publish Akaei’s back catalogue, which will include titles such as Grouch, M-Alien Paranoia and the budget range, AAA Game.

Further to this Akaei will get Digital distribution rights within the territory in all cases and non-exclusive worldwide digital rights on a product-by-product basis.

Further joint ventures between the two parties are currently in discussion.

Akaei Launch AAA Game Value Range for the PC

Akaei Plc, the recently AIM listed Software Publisher today announces that it is to launch the first six titles on the value label, AAA Game.

AAA Game will publish previously released PC product at a highly competitive price point of £4.99. The label, which will release titles in batches of 6 products can today reveal that its first releases are due for release 21st September 01. Titles to be included will include the football Management titles Giant Killers and Giant Killer Euro Manager, and the award winning Tread Marks, which received three awards at the Independent Games Festival 2000. (Technical Excellence, Grand Prize, Best Game Design) Also in the range will be the Deer Avenger series, Deer Avenger, Deer Avenger 2 and Deer Avenger 3D.

“Budget software is a key factor in the current market. As we continue to build our portfolio of products, it makes sense for us to capitalise on their market worth, our aim is to provide the retailer and the consumer with a value product, to fit this requirement..
