Create Your Own Cossacks Mission - Screens

by Thomas on Jan. 15, 2002 @ 4:22 p.m. PST

UK Cossacks fans eagerly awaiting the release of the forthcoming The Art of War expansion pack are in for an unexpected treat – as CDV Software Entertainment UK reveals a surprise inclusion. For the first time ever, players will be able to easily create their own Cossacks missions, as the UK version of The Art of War will feature an easy-to-use Cossacks Scenario Editor.

CDV Entertainment Software Offers World Exclusive to UK Games Players

The Scenario Editor allows Cossacks players to create limitless single-player missions, which can be enjoyed by anyone with a full copy of the game. Among the many features included, players can include their own artwork to describe the forthcoming missions, set variable difficulty levels and work within one of three map sizes.

The release of The Art of War will be the first time the scenario is made available in an English-language version. A Russian editor has been available to download for a month, though its full use has been restricted to those fluent in the language.

“Cossacks is an important title for CDV Software Entertainment UK,” says Leo Zullo, Marketing Manager, “and we’ve been keen to offer the scenario editor for two vital reasons. First, we want The Art of War to offer each player as much as possible – and with the various enhancements and level additions, we’ve done just that. Secondly, we want users to really get involved with the future development of the series. By designing and sharing their own scenarios, gamers are not only extending the life of their copy of the title, they could be shaping the Cossacks games of the future, much as other Modifications have driven first-person shooters.”

This Scenario Editor, when combined with more than 35 enhancements to the original game, makes The Art Of War a must-have for the army of Cossacks players across the UK. It is due to be published by CDV Software Entertainment UK on February 8th, 2002.
