by Rainier on Jan. 29, 2002 @ 7:57 p.m. PST

Rage, the UK-based computer games publisher and developer, is pleased to announce that its forthcoming Aggressive Inline skating title 'Rolling' for the Sony PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and Xbox video game system from Microsoft is scheduled for release in time for Christmas 2002.

Rolling features an unsurpassed line-up of 18 international skaters who lead both the male and female events in the two principal Aggressive Inline disciplines: 'street' and 'vert'.

The skaters featured are: Cesar Mora (AUS), Fabiola da Silva (BRA), Jon Julio (USA), Randy Spizer (USA), Eric Schrijn (USA), Jon Elliott (USA), Blake Dennis (AUS), Wilfred Rossignol (FR), Brian Shima (USA), Eito Yasutoko (JAP), Takeshi Yasutoko (JAP), BJ Bernhardt (USA), Anthony Mackie (UK), Anneke Winter (GER), Martina Svobodova (SLO), Robert Lievanos (USA), Jenny Logue (UK) and Bruno Lowe (GER)

In addition to assembling this unique cast of skaters, Rage has also signed agreements with several international skate parks including Rampworx skate park (Liverpool, UK), Escondido skate park (CA, USA), G-Skates skate park (Kobe City, Japan) RollerParc Avenue (Paris, France) and Eisenbergs skate park (TX, USA) and plans to painstakingly recreate each of these skate parks alongside the others already being designed.

To give the game still more authenticity and depth, Rage is working closely with the world's leading inline skating brands including USD skates, England clothing and VideoGroove video magazine and each of these companies will feature strongly in the unique non-linear 'reputation' driven storyline.

Rage is also working tirelessly within the skating community to ensure it creates a game that is truly authentic to the sport and its game designers are in regular contact with leading skaters from around the world in order to secure their expertise, guidance and technical assistance during the development of the title.

This regular input from leading skaters is helping ensure that Rolling is packed with hundreds of real-life tricks for the player to perfect. Rolling will also include a player editor that offers far greater levels of customization than other leading titles, including a state-of-the-art character face editor and the option to choose from thousands of real-life licensed clothing, boots, wheels and frames.

Rage has also commissioned the world's leading rollerblading videographers, Drew Bachrach and Dave Paine, to produce over an hours worth of exclusive video footage for the game to show off what rolling is all about and is in advanced discussions with many leading international musicians and bands about their participation on the game soundtrack.
