'Big Mutha Truckers' (XB/PS2) Product Information

by Thomas on Oct. 12, 2002 @ 8:15 p.m. PDT

Big Mutha Truckers sees the player take command of an 18-wheel rig, trucking from city to city, wheeling and dealing and upping the stakes as they battle to build up a personal fortune.

1. General Information
i) If you are in a trading post and leave the controls alone for about 15 seconds the storekeeper or the garage owner will begin a conversation with the character. This can be quite entertaining and builds up the image of Hick State County and its characters.

ii) If you press circle on the trading post store when you are selling a commodity it will tell you how much you bought the product for and how much you are selling it for;

iii) If you go to see Ma, she will show you the price histories of each product in each trading post and also what your brothers and sisters have been buying and selling;

iv) There are natural disasters which regularly occur which cause wild fluctuations in the buying and selling prices of commodities.

2. Sound
i) The voice of the K-Rok radio DJ, Johnny Fuego is also the voice of Tony the Tiger on the Frosties advert!

ii) The voice of the idents on K-Rok and Space 108 is the announcer on Radio 1. (Lela B)

iii) If you listen to the conversation given to the player when the controls are left alone, a few of the characters have "Stepped Out" with Ma in the past. It is implied that Otis (at Smokestack Heights) is Rawkus's Dad, and it is probable that Mort (at Salt Sea City) is Earl's Dad. The rest are left ambiguous. Chastity in Smokestack also has a very questionable past!

3. On Road Events
i) No police cars should appear on days 1 -2 (on the latest builds) but will start chasing you on day 3 onwards. If they catch you in the early stages they will give you a fine; after about day 10 they will put you in prison;

ii) The number of police cars and bikers increase according to your notoriety and reputation;

iii) The bikers will chase you from day 1 and will get increasingly aggressive as the game continues. If a biker group is attacked the remaining bikers will climb on board the back of your truck and try to steal your load. They will do this one at a time unless you wipe them out.

4. Trading
i) The game is completely non-linear. You can go where you want when you want and buy and sell whatever you choose.
