'Rally Fusion : Race Of Champions' (PS2/XB) - Facts & Screens

Activision, Inc. introduces a new dimension in rally racing onto the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system and Xbox video game system from Microsoft, with the release of Rally Fusion: Race of Champions. The game allows players to choose from 19 fully licensed rally cars and tear up the terrain on massive tracks in fully interactive environments, against some of the best drivers in motorsport. Vehicles:-

19 different vehicles will be featured in Rally Fusion: Race of Champions each with their own unique handling and difficulty, which will affect a player’s performance with acceleration, braking and steering. The cars, as seen in the Race of Champions event, range from the crazy Race of Champions Buggy, instantly recognisable to anyone who has ever attended the Michelin Race of Champions in Gran Canaria and the classic Ford Escort Mk 1 rally car, to the more powerful Audi S1 Quattro, the Peugeot 306 and the Mitsubishi Lancer.

Environments:-

Activision has revealed a total of 9 huge fully interactive environments within which players can submerge themselves. Within these world settings players can contend over 20 different tracks testing their skills against the huge variety of race challenges and modes. As well as the Race of Champions Gran Canaria Event and track, there will be diverse and contrasting terrains and conditions with realistic weather effects including rain and snow. Race through the blistering heat of the desert, up the side of treacherous snow ridden mountains, through open canyons and bustling metropolitan cities, tackle the rain in the tropical rainforests and complete tough challenges in a gigantic stadium.

Modes of Play:-

The game features more ways of playing than any other rally game ever, modes include Circuit Challenge, Elimination, Follow-The-Leader, Rally Cross and World Tour Extreme. One of the pinnacles of the game is of course, The ‘Race of Champions’ mode, where players can enter the annual Michelin Race of Champions event, to compete for the Champion of Champions crown or as part of a team in the Nations Cup. The ‘ROC Challenge’ mode offers the player a complete in-depth racing experience with a huge range of challenge types featuring both single car and multiple car racing:-

- Rally Challenge
Features a single car driving around a circuit for a number of laps

- Circuit Challenge
Features up to 4 drivers racing around a circuit for a number of laps

- Rally Cross Challenge
Features up to 4 drivers racing through a rally course

- Driving Challenge
Pits drivers against the clock in an attempt to record the best times on an obstacle course full of challenges

- Hill Climb Challenge
Features a single car traversing a dangerous mountain road in an attempt to record the best time - without falling off the mountain !

- Elimination Challenge
A up to 4 driver knockout challenge that takes place on both circuits and rally stages. At each checkpoint on the course, the last place driver is eliminated

- Follow the Leader Challenge
Each driver has a health-bar that depletes whenever the driver is not in the lead resulting in a constant fight for first place and survival to the end

- Head to Head Challenge
A race between 2 drivers in identical cars around a range of courses including circuits and rally stages

- Race of Champions Challenge
A knockout tournament where players race in identical cars around a parallel track which takes place over 3 heats of head to head racing

Drivers:-

Players can compete against over 30 drivers who have participated in various motorsports including Superbike, Rallying and Sportscar racing. You will come face to face with Marcus Gronholm from Finland, Stig Blomqvist from Sweden and Didier Auriol from France to name just a few, all of whom are regular participants in the Race of Champions event.
