Ubi Soft and Disney strengthen their ties with a further distribution agreement

Ubi Soft is to distribute three Disney Interactive games for GameBoy®Advance:

  • Disney’s Peter Pan Return to Never Land
  • Disney’s Lilo and Stitch
  • Disney’s Treasure Planet

The launch of these three games in 2002 will coincide with the European release of 3 new Disney animation films: Disney's Peter Pan Return to Never Land is to be released in October, Disney's Lilo and Stitch in July and Disney's Treasure Planet in November. Disney's Treasure Planet is the 42nd and highly anticipated Disney feature film. It is a futuristic adaptation of R. L. Stevenson's famous novel Treasure Island.

These three games cannot fail to win over a wide audience by immersing gamers in the simultaneously magical and playful universe of Disney.

In Disney’s Peter Pan Return to Never Land Ubi Soft will be distributing a game based on one of the greatest Disney classics: Peter Pan. Gamers will rediscover the unforgettable Never Land and share the famous adventures of Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Wendy and Jane.

In Disney’s Lilo and Stitch, the young gamers will find themselves discovering the mismatched pair of the charming Lilo, the little Hawaiian girl, and Stitch, her alien companion in a heartwarming action-comedy. Disney’s two, new lovable characters will offer plenty of emotions with Stitch misbehaving all the time and being incredibly destructive, and with Lilo trying to calm him down and teach him about Ohana, the meaning of family.

Disney’s Treasure Planet, an emotional coming-of-age story full of fantasy adventure and heroic space action, has everything to appeal to kids. Inspired by the legendary "loot of a thousand" the restless teen Jim Hawkins stumbles upon a map to the greatest pirate trove in the universe. Gamers will plonge into an intergalactic tale of courage and self-discovery set in the greatest treasure hunt of all time.

"Ubi Soft has been very successful in Europe on Disney titles and we are pleased to continue our relationship through this distribution agreement," commented Thierry Braille, Disney Interactive's Vice President and Managing Director for Europe, Middle East & Africa. "We trust these GameBoy® Advance games on our 3 next animation films will be great hits."

“We are very happy about this new cooperative project with Disney Interactive,” commented Alain Corre, Ubi Soft Entertainment’s Managing Director for Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America. “I am convinced that these games, inspired from the next 3 great animation films by Disney, and in a format as popular as GameBoy® Advance, will meet with a resounding success in Europe.”
