'Shrek' Comes To The GBA - Facts and Screens

TDK Mediactive Europe, a division of TDK Recording Media Europe S.A., today announced the first stages of development for a Game Boy Advance version of the smash hit movie 'Shrek'. This development follows the huge success of 'Shrek - Fairy Tale Freakdown' for the Game Boy Color in the US, where it became the fifth best selling Game Boy Color title for the first half of June 2001.
'Shrek' for the Game Boy Advance is scheduled for a Spring 2002 release and will feature the much-loved characters of Princess Fiona™, Lord Farquaad™, Donkey, plus all the other favourites in a kart-racing action extravaganza.

In its eighth week of release in the US, 'Shrek', the highly acclaimed block-busting animated feature film from DreamWorksTM, has grossed over $240.6 million, making it one of the most successful animated films ever. The movie features the voices of Cameron Diaz, Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and John Lithgow. 'Shrek' the movie rolled out in the UK on 29th June to a plethora of high critical praise. It's first weekend of UK release grossed £4.69 million.

About 'Shrek Fairy Tale Freakdown' for Game Boy Color

Since its launch on May 7th in the US, over 100,000 units of 'Shrek Fairy Tale FreakDown' for the Game Boy Color have shipped to retail consumers and distributors. According to NPD Group's TRSTS sell-through report, 'Shrek Fairy Tale FreakDown' was the fifth best selling Game Boy Color title and the 17th best selling video game for the week of June 3 - June 9 2001 in the USA.

About 'Shrek' for Xbox

Every Ogre needs some peace and quiet, even Shrek! Now that Shrek is the newly discovered hero to all of the fairy tale characters, they have over-run his home sweet swamp and are begging for his help…after all, he is the strongest, meanest and greenest ogre around. In an effort to live happily ogre after, Shrek embarks on a series of missions in never-before-seen environments.
