by Thomas on Feb. 19, 2002 @ 3:29 p.m. PST

A mysterious plane crash on Kirrin Island marks the start of another exciting adventure for the Famous Five in their newest interactive PC adventure - Five on A Secret Mission.

In this fun and intriguing story-based game Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy discover the pilot has crashed whilst on a secret service mission to deliver highly sensitive radio equipment. The agent soon realises he has been set up and someone is trying to use him to courier illegal goods.

Players must help the Famous Five, as they become Junior Secret Agents, to solve the clues and recover the missing radio equipment before it falls into the wrong hands!

Based on the best-selling Enid Blyton books, Five on a Secret Mission gives 8-12 year olds the chance to become part of the team in a realistic 3D environment that will stimulate imaginations and encourage lateral thinking and problem-solving.

The CD-ROM is the latest instalment in the evolution of a story which began when Enid Blyton penned the first of many Famous Five adventures in 1942. The series has since sold over 60 million books world-wide.

Kelly Payne, Product Manager for Famous Five at Knowledge Adventure, a studio of Vivendi Universal Publishing, said: "Famous Five has been a beloved children's mystery series for generations, and this new adventure is true to the engaging nature of Blyton's books that has thrilled children worldwide for years."

Five on A Secret Mission is available for PC CD-ROM on the 22nd March 2002 from good high street software retailers, priced at £19.99. For more sales information please call Vivendi Universal Games on 0118 920 9100.
