Day Of The Sequels

Infogrames and Phantagram revealed that Total Annihilation 2 is in the works. Very interesting stuff. Phantagram is best known for Kingdom Under Fire, a large scale RTS game that was published by Take-2 under the Gathering of Developers label. It will be interesting to see what they can create based on Cavedog's masterpiece. Richard Garriott and the folks at NCSoft have announced Lineage 2, the second iteration of their popular online roleplaying game. But the real kicker is that it will reportedly use Epic's Unreal Engine technology. NCsoft said almost all core components have been developed at this point and an alpha version is being tested. The company, which began to develop Lineage II in October 2000, said it is in talks with a major music studio to produce game music and sound effects. A testing-level service will be available in several months and a full-fledged commercial version is slated for the first half of 2003. NCSoft said it will introduce Lineage II in foreign markets such as the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and China by end-2003.
