UBI SOFT AND NATSUME TO BRING MEDABOTS AX TO THE ADVANCE

"Ubi Soft is delighted to be continuing our relationship with Natsume®. We think Medabots is going to be the next playground craze and with these four new games, children will be able to take on their favourite characters from the animated series" stated Emma Fifield Product Manager, Ubi Soft.

Hiro Maekawa, President & CEO of Natsume Inc. states, "Once again we are truly excited to be working with such a reputable and industry leading company as Ubi Soft. With the strength and dedication of Ubi Soft's powerful sales force we feel that Medabots will be a great success!"

Set in the near future, Medabots revolves around the super-charged battling adventures of a group of kids and their unique, high performance pet robots fuelled with artificial intelligence and a specialised arsenal of unique interchangeable weapons. Medabots compete against each other in exciting Robattles.

In this high-tech world every kid hopes the successful outcome of their playground challenges and backyard Robattles will give them the opportunity to represent their country at the World Robattle Tournament held every four years.

A Medabot (known as Medarot in Japan and Italy) is a robot that is controlled and instructed by its owner. Each Medabot consists of a frame called a Tinpet and four body parts (head, left arm, right arm and legs) that determine its function. There are more than 3,900,000 combinations of parts to create your own Medabot. They include fighting styles, effectiveness on different terrains and control.

In addition, each Medabot has a medal that controls its intelligence. Medabots compete in contests known as "Robattles". The victorious Medabot not only earns a victory, it also gets to collect a part from the loser. The Medabot franchise is hugely popular in Japan.

Medabots started life as a Game Boy™ Color title and has rapidly grown into a franchise of video games on different platforms, a variety of toys and a hit television series.
