Yeti Interactive Change Name To TIWAK

by Thomas on May 11, 2002 @ 8:44 a.m. PDT

Yeti Interactive today announced that it has changed its name to Tiwak(TM). Tiwak was founded in August 2000 by key members of the development team for the award-winning action-platformers Rayman and Rayman 2.

"We had the team choose between various names, and Tiwak was the clear winner! We later found out that Tiwak was the name of a little boy, hero of an Indian legend. It was just cool!", said Yann Le Tensorer, CEO of Tiwak.

21 months after the creation of the company, Tiwak has become a well known game studio, with over 40 employees working on both a major title (a Microsoft first-party action/platform game exclusive to Xbox) and also a high performance console games production toolset. Tiwak has also started to work on other game concepts for consoles, and will present them to publishers at this year's E3.
