THQ ‘Have a Go Show’ MX Superfly

MX Superfly to be unveiled for first public showing alongside live Freestyle Motocross display.. THQ International Ltd, a subsidiary of THQ Inc. today announced that it will be sponsoring the ‘Freestyle’ Motocross arena at the ‘Have a Go Show’, at Newnham Park, Plympton, Plymouth, to promote its forthcoming MX Superfly game, due for release October 2002. ‘Have a Go Show’ is a brand new 3-day event and is expected to attract around 12,000-15,000 people. The event is being held from Friday 9th-Sunday 11th August 2002, and will be a unique opportunity for the general public to experience an extensive range of outdoor activities, some of which will include, rally car ‘hot rides’, climbing, paintball and quad bikes.

THQ has supported Motocross for several years, including 2 years headline sponsorship for the British Motocross Championships, between 2000-2001. THQ will be unveiling for the first time in the UK, its MX Superfly game for the PlayStation® 2 computer entertainment system. In addition, THQ will be sponsoring the Freestyle arena at the event which will offer members of the public the chance to see some of the best UK Freestyle riders in action, including, Jamie Squibb, Chris Birch, Danny Veale, and Fraser Swanson. Freestyle Motocross is an exhibition sport, whereby riders perform perilous stunts on dirt bikes.

MX Superfly for the PlayStation® 2 computer entertainment system and Nintendo® GameCube™, is the fourth instalment of THQ’s MX series. It follows on from the highly successful, Championship Motocross, Championship Motocross 2001 and MX2002. MX Superfly is the most complete motocross game to date, combining the three disciplines MotoCross, Supercross, and Freestyle. Once again the game will showcase the sport’s world number one pro-rider, Ricky Carmichael, along with a host of enhanced features, including an expanded Freestyle mode and a new Stunt Track Editor.
