'Pro Evolution Soccer 2' The Champion On UK Tour!

by Thomas on Jan. 20, 2003 @ 4:10 a.m. PST

Following the huge success of 2002's Pro Evolution Soccer 2 National Championship, Konami of Europe, GAME and Computer & Video Games are to embark on an all-new 'Champion's Tour', with fans of the game invited to challenge reigning PES2 champion David Sefah.

The tour will comprise two key dates, with David taking on all comers in GAME's Arndale Centre branch in Manchester on March 5th, before heading south to challenge Pro Evolution Soccer 2 fans in GAME's Selbourne Centre store in Walthamstow, London, on March 12th. Every entrant will walk away with a free Pro Evolution Soccer 2 rucksack and an UMBRO shirt, while anyone who beats David will also win £50.

Both events will take place between 6:30-8:30pm, and Konami will also be showing Winning Eleven 6: Final Evolution - the Japanese update of Pro Evolution Soccer 2 - which refines the game engine in preparation for work on Pro Evolution Soccer 3. Members of Dennis Publishing's CVG magazine will also be on hand for challenge matches, with winners walking away with a free subscription to the multi-format publication.

Players interested in taking part should contact one of two email addresses. For the Manchester event, would-be contenders should email their name, age, address and contact details to pes2north@dennis.co.uk , while the address for the London date is pes2south@dennis.co.uk . Successful applicants will be drawn from the hat and will receive an invitation in the post. These will be limited to 25 people in each area, along with one guest. The closing date for entrants is February 20th.
