Nyko Ships 'Wireless Net Extender' (PS2/Xbox)

Internet gaming just got easier! Nyko Technologies has shipped its flagship product, the Wireless Net Extender, to major retail outlets and consumer electronic stores. The Wireless Net Extender allows gamers to connect their Sony Playstation 2 or Microsoft Xbox to their Internet connection, even when they are in different rooms, for cable-free Internet game play. Comprised of two small black boxes, Nyko's wireless technology is easy to use, completely plug-n-play, and provides a secure connection. Nyko's Wireless Net Extender carries a suggested retail price of $99.99.

"Online gaming is continuing to gain in popularity and in fact, some industry experts expect this new form of gaming to become its own billion dollar industry," said Susan Corben, director of marketing, Nyko Technologies. "Unfortunately, the Internet connection in many homes is usually in a different room than the television and gaming console. Nyko's Wireless Net Extender provides 'non-technical' gamers with a simple, fast, and cost-effective solution so that they can experience the fun of interacting with other gamers across the globe."

Measuring only a 3in cube, the Wireless Net Extender utilizes RF technology to allow an Internet connection and gaming console to "talk" to each other, even when they are up to 100 ft. apart. By simply plugging one unit into the existing DSL or cable modem, and the other unit into the gaming console, online gaming fanatics can play anywhere the television is located.

In addition to getting rid of unsightly Ethernet cables, the Wireless Net Extender can support fast cable and DSL modem speeds, so there is no annoying lag in game play.
