'Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004' Goes GOLD

by Thomas on Oct. 21, 2003 @ 10:48 p.m. PDT

“The Trainz team is excited about the anticipated reception that TRS2004 will receive,” said Tony Hilliam, Auran Marketing Director. “We're sure everyone will enjoy the new industry resource system, the steam locos, the driver command system and all the new content. Even better than that, what is in the box is really just the beginning. The amount of custom content that users can download and install with a few mouse clicks will ensure that the experience continues to expand every day.”

About Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004

Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004 is more than driving trains -- it is a total railroad experience. TRS2004 lets players operate their choice of locomotives, from the golden age of steam through to modern high-speed electrics, under a variety of challenging conditions in real world scenarios. In addition, players coordinate the movement of passengers and freight as their busy industrial world springs to life. Users can also create their own realistic environments, sculpting mountains and valleys, placing scenery objects, laying track and connecting a variety of trackside industries and towns.

The amount of downloadable custom content will double to nearly 20,000 unique items. “We have experienced over 1,000,000 downloads of custom content already from our Trainz Download Station,” said Hilliam. “With TRS2004, we've made sure that installing this new content will be even easier so that you don't have to be a computer expert to experience all the extra fun."

TRS2004 works with Windows 98, 2000, ME, and XP. Recommended minimum is P3 800 MHz with a GeForce 2 video card at medium detail settings.
