by Thomas on Oct. 7, 2003 @ 12:17 p.m. PDT

Join Timon, Pumbaa and Simba in the greatest Disney's The Lion King adventures yet. Disney Interactive, a publishing label of Buena Vista Games, Inc., today announced the availability of "Disney's The Lion King 1 1/2" for Game Boy Advance and "Disney's The Lion King PC Game Collection" in retail stores nationwide. Created with the same spirited fun and humor as the cherished films, both titles will capture kids' hearts as they journey through the many awaiting challenges, activities and surprises. With the Game Boy Advance title, kids also get to view exclusive film clips for The Walt Disney Company's upcoming film, "Disney's The Lion King 1 1/2: Hakuna Matata," coming to DVD and video in February 2004.

"Disney Interactive is thrilled to continue the legacy of The Lion King, one of The Walt Disney Company's most cherished properties, with the release of `Disney's The Lion King 1 1/2' for Game Boy Advance and `Disney's The Lion King PC Game Collection,'" said Bob Picunko, director of marketing for Disney Interactive. "For kids everywhere, we're certain that both titles, with their offering of creative challenges, fun-filled activities and the same adventurous spirit that Disney's The Lion King movies are known for, will become all time favorites."

"Disney's The Lion King 1 1/2" for Game Boy Advance

In "Disney's The Lion King 1 1/2" for Game Boy Advance, for kids ages 5 and older, players take on the roles of Timon and Pumbaa, in an action-packed quest to find Hakuna Matata, just as the characters do in the next, upcoming Disney's The Lion King movie. In the game, children enjoy three modes of play. Solo mode lets kids play as either Timon or Pumbaa as they climb vines, play hide and seek and more. In cooperative mode, players alternate between both characters to solve puzzles and complete tasks, from finding their new home to escaping predators. Team mode brings both characters together with Timon riding Pumbaa in rambunctious chase sequences. With more than five chapters, each with five play levels, "Disney's The Lion King 1 1/2" for Game Boy Advance offers plenty of non-stop action. As each chapter is completed, players are awarded special puzzle pieces, which upon collecting all of them, an image of Hakuna Matata is displayed and five additional bonus levels are unlocked. Best of all, kids can enjoy viewing clips from the next Disney's The Lion King movie, which they will find as they progress through game levels.

"Disney's The Lion King PC Game Collection"

"Disney's The Lion King PC Game Collection," for boys and girls ages 3 to 8, includes three favorite games together in one special collector's edition. "Disney's Adventures in Typing with Timon and Pumbaa" provides numerous activities designed for building essential typing skills, such as learning finger placement, home row techniques and editing mistakes. "Disney's Active Play, The Lion King II: Simba's Pride" game lets kids step inside a jungle full of fun and excitement where they can create wonderful arts and crafts, enjoy sing-alongs and watch puppet shows while learning all about life in the jungle. During craft making, children can create animals and wacky masks that they can then print and share with friends and family. In addition, "Disney's Timon and Pumbaa's Jungle Games" brings kids back into the jungle as they partake in all kinds of zany games.
