The Western Regional Qualifiers for the ATI/AMD Cyber X Games, the world's largest computer gaming tournament, will be held Friday - Sunday, Dec. 5 - 7 at the LAX Renaissance Hotel.

The best-of-the-best game players will battle it in a marathon of 54 straight hours of hectic double elimination rounds in Counter-Strike, Unreal Tournament 2003 and America's Army. In addition to the chance to take home thousands of dollars in prizes, the winners of the Los Angeles event will advance to the ATI/AMD Cyber X Games Championships on Thursday - Sunday, January 8 - 11 at the Riviera and Stardust hotel casinos in Las Vegas.

The Los Angeles qualifier is one of more than a dozen qualifiers being held in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Two months from now, competitors will via for hundreds or thousands of dollars in cash and prizes at the Vegas championships, an event for serious gamers, fans and families. The $100,000 Counter-Strike first prize will be the single largest purse in gaming history.

Anyone interested in registering as a competitor or just attending the Los Angeles or Las Vegas events can find information at http://www.cyberxgaming.com/events/index.php?losangeles.
