The fact that a film will be made that is based on this game shows how popular the franchise actually is. Over 2 million copies have been sold in Germany, Austria and Switzerland so far. "There are many games that are based on popular films and TV shows but there are few films that are based on popular computer and video console games. Constantin Films is currently producing the film, which is planned to be ready Q1 2004. Davilex is planning the release of an Autobahn Raser game, based on the script of the movie, in Q3 2004.
