Glass Tower Studios Launches 'Profiteer'

by Rainier on Dec. 11, 2003 @ 3:27 p.m. PST

Massive Multi-player On-line Gaming (MMOG) has reached a new level with the introduction of the browser-based Profiteer. Unlike other well-known MMOGs, such as EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot and Star Wars Galaxies, browser-based MMOG’s don't require you to purchase or download software; you are able to log-on and play.

You can now live and work in space, create cartels or empires, engage in piracy or hunt pirates down. By controlling and operating starships, and using “real world” economics, you can make a living, generate wealth and pursue personal goals all within the 8506 stars known to be located within 150 light years of our sun. Each of these stars has up to ten planetary bodies orbiting them. The current game version has almost unlimited possibilities with 59,028 places to visit, within the game.

The meticulous work executed under the direction of CEO David Shaw has produced a game that allows players to become intimately involved within the immense framework of the game. A casual player can explore the galaxy looking for profit and adventure. Someone else may involve themselves in political intrigue and scheme to overthrow a planetary government, engage in turf wars with cartels, or begin an empire.

Space has become a frontier that is only a click away; but, what will you do when you get there?
