Konami of America, Inc. announced today that World Soccer Winning Eleven 6 International (WE6) for the PS2 has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. Having sold over 2.4 million units in Europe and Japan since its debut in April 2002, the internationally celebrated WE6 (known as Pro Evolution Soccer in Europe) is poised to up the ante for soccer simulation supremacy in North America.

"We are thrilled to bring World Soccer Winning Eleven 6 International to North America," said Rob Goff, Product Manager at Konami of America, Inc. "Soccer gamers here have been asking for this title for years and now they'll have a chance to enjoy the thrill and excitement of the world's best soccer game."

In WE6, gamers choose from nearly 100 national and club teams, including thousands of players. WE6 fuses unprecedented ball physics with amazing player A.I. to deliver legendary gameplay that perfectly mimics the speed and passion of real-life soccer. Beautiful player models are brought to life with hundreds of animations to create life-like athletes who fight tooth and nail for every goal in one of 14 brilliantly rendered stadiums. Dozens of unique animations for each possible action give players a fresh gaming experience every time they take to the pitch. WE6 features fine-tuned artificial intelligence that is so precise that each player reacts and adjusts to every possible on-field situation and gamers will notice a genuine distinction between players with varying skill levels. Additionally, an innovative "Teamwork Rating" monitors each player's team chemistry and improves over time as the player gels with his teammates.

Suited for players of all levels, gamers can hone their skills for prime-time action in the UMBRO Training Mode, as well as by playing "friendlies" against rival sides or by taking to the pitch in one of five game modes - Exhibition, League, Cup, Practice and Master League. For gamers looking for the ultimate soccer gaming experience, WE6 offers the most in-depth franchise mode available. Players will start with their club in the third division where they must gain points to pay players' salaries and improve their squads. Since player fatigue is cumulative over the season, squad rotation is essential. With the ultimate goal of moving to the top of the 1st division, players will take over the front office as they negotiate contracts, lure players from other teams, manage their budgets and guide their team to the championship.

WE6 is rated E for Everyone and is available at an MSRP of $39.99. Learn more about WE6 at the official website.
