by Thomas on April 15, 2003 @ 6:11 a.m. PDT

Take the Pop Idol challenge, discover what's next for Operation Flashpoint and Colin McRae Rally and experience Dragon Empires' new visual world – Codemasters is set to reveal all at this year's E3 Expo (May 14-16th, Los Angeles Convention Centre). With a blockbuster line up of console and PC games at its showcase booth (#746 in the South Hall), this is Codemasters' biggest E3 presence yet with more first showings, big reveals and major announcements than ever before... Read more for some more candy!

Pop Idol, set to be the mass-market game of the year for PlayStation 2 and PC, will be exclusively presented from a themed stage on the booth. Codemasters will challenge show-goers to see how well they can perform as a virtual Pop Idol singer as they control the in-game voice of a contestant through the music-based rhythm-action gameplay.

Every in-game performance is judged by a computer-generated Simon Cowell, and there may be some very familiar Idols faces at Codemasters' E3 booth too...

Codemasters will also unveil the next level for its power-brand games including Colin McRae Rally, Operation Flashpoint and LMA Manager.

Premiering exclusively at E3 is Battlefield Command, the intense World War II tactical RTS for PC.

Also playable at the show will be the latest previews of the mighty MMORPG Dragon Empires for PC complete with its stunning new landscape engine, the incredible 17 football action games that form the Club Football series (PS2, Xbox), and Operation Flashpoint on Xbox.

Says Mike Hayes, Codemasters' Group Marketing Director:

"It's going to be an extremely valuable E3 for Codemasters – we're premiering new titles for some of the biggest game franchises, introducing groundbreaking original games and promise some show-stopping surprises over the three days."

E3 runs at the Los Angeles Convention Centre from May 14-16th, Codemasters showcase booth is #746 in the South Hall.
