'Endless Ages' - Screens

by Rainier on May 9, 2003 @ 10:58 p.m. PDT

Endless Ages is an ambitious potpourri of game elements including first-person shooters, tactical combat offerings, air combat sims, and RPGs, all combined in an attempt to create a compelling world in which users can dwell and do battle.

‘Throughout infinite ages, in this world known as Earth, life and death bind us all in the cycle of humanity. Every being is given the breath of life and conversely given the legacy of death. Millenniums elapse yet no one in existence can be certain of what may come with the shadow of death. Questions arise among the living as we deliberate where the path may lead once our time here has concluded. In the silence of this lucid fear, the reign for supremacy amongst all beings absorbs the soul and swallows the heart.

The providence of death is inevitable, and has been decided. From the gates of fatality one is summoned in a vale of shadowed twilight. A forceful darkness, bathed in blue flame, eclipses everything in ones vision. The weight of ones body, the whispers in the stillness of the mind, through psychic gestures become too great to endure. Sounds become distant. A deep black light pierces the tenuous membrane between body and spirit as the soul is slain with compelling passion. Our spirit indulges in a higher state of consciousness until the soul convenes to a supreme council of Divine Entities. In the course of this reunion we shall be remitted to a realm of new existence, a realm of Endless Ages.’

There are 3 playable races to choose from; Humans (male and female), Bloblics, and the Amphibious. All player characters are customizable from the start and all armor in game was created to be separate attachments, allowing players to mix and match their look. The amount of combination for each character ranges into the thousands.

There are currently 12 skills to choose from (new ones are always being designed and added), of which any race can learn. The only exception to this is the Mind Control skill, which is the Amphibious equivalent to Weapon Tech.

  • Engineering
  • Smithy
  • Alchemy
  • Weapon Tech
  • Melee
  • Mind Control (Amphibious)
  • Familiars (Riding Pets / Creatures)
  • Magic
  • Shape Shifting (shift into different creatures)
  • Piloting (Jet Packs and Vehicles)
  • Hiding
  • Reveal

Each race has a different proficiency level to each skill which makes up the difference in race abilities. There are hundreds of different types of creatures to encounter in the world of Iia. Join in Endless Ages and own a home, ride on pets, train in the art of magic or pilot vehicles such as Jet Packs, Hover Bikes, Hydro Crafts, and Submarines.

Other features include:

  • Real-time FPS Combat (no turn based here, no “fake-time” here)
  • Player placed housing
  • Player run stores
  • PvP Arena (w/ web statistics for tracking progress)
  • PvP and Non-PvP servers
  • Thousands of quests
  • Hundreds of creatures
  • Unique Items
  • Clan and War Systems
  • Grouping Systems
  • Corps looting (only on PvP server, only on droppable items)
  • Murder system for PvP server

You are probably wondering how the murder system works. Basically when you kill 7 non murderers (Non-PK’s) the name tag above your head turns from blue to red. While in this state you are restricted in areas where you can shop and bank, certain creatures and guards will become more aggressive towards a red tag and a Non-PK’s can kill you freely without having to worry about obtaining a murder. To remove your murder status it will take 12 hours of Non-PK activity while logged in to the server to remove one murder count. Once your counts hit 6 your tag will change back to blue.

One of the latest additions to the world of Endless Ages is the Arena system. This allows players to participate in unrestricted PvP play without racking up murder counts. There are two different types of play for the Arena; Last Man Standing and Team/Clan. While competing in the Arena, all items on your body are now non drop, non corpse looting.
