Sony Computer Entertainment Europe are pleased to announce that their 'EyeToy: Play' title exclusive to PlayStation2, and developed by their London Studios, has picked up two of the prestigious E3 awards for best Hardware/Peripheral and best Puzzle/parlor/trivia game.

The Judges - who are drawn from select industry commentators and journalists from some of Americas largest publications - picked out the fact that 'EyeToy: Play' was almost as much fun to watch someone play as actually playing the game itself! 'EyeToy: Play' was also praised for its instant accessibility, its intuitive gameplay and its ability to turn non-gamers into a whirlwind of flailing arms, hands and legs!

Phil Harrison Executive Vice President Development at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe commented -

"These are truly prestigious awards, deservingly awarded to a brilliant product. Thank you to all the critics who voted for us and for recognising that originality and innovation is alive and kicking (and waving its arms around) on PlayStation 2."

'EyeToy: Play' is a compendium of twelve games, which are not only stunningly simple and instantly playable but deliver compelling entertainment for every member of the family. From the wild and wacky UFO Juggling to the more serene water effects in the playroom, 'EyeToy: Play' is the party game for the 21st century.

'Eyetoy: Play' places you at the centre of a unique game experience - literally! By linking the PlayStation 2 to the supplied EyeToy USB camera the player(s) will feature live on screen within the game enabling them to physically interact with, and manipulate game-featured characters and environments, allowing them to truly be the star of the game!

As a leap forward in home entertainment, 'EyeToy: Play' - released in July - is the beginning of a new era in console games experiences, and set to change the face of traditional console gaming as we know it. It has the potential to inspire an entirely new genre of gaming experience and appeal to a brand new audience... So come on everyone get up and Play!
